What is Payroll Giving?
It is a scheme that allows any individual paid through PAYE to make a donation to any charity in the UK tax free.
Donate through your salary and more goes to Al Kawthar Academy
Donating direct from your salary is a simple effective way to support Al Kawthar Academy. Payroll Giving is vital to Al Kawthar Academy because it gives us a reliable source of income enabling us to further our charitable activities.
What are the benefits?
Payroll Giving is a tax-effective way for employees and pensioners to give to Al Kawthar Academy. For every £1 that you donate, 22p (at 22% tax rate), which would de deducted as tax, will go to Al Kawthar Academy.
Many people give to charity on a regular basis. A payroll giving scheme enables the donations to be deducted on a weekly or monthly basis from an employee’s pay before tax, for example: giving £10 a month costs a basic rate taxpayer only £7.80 because they save £2.20 tax. For a higher rate taxpayer the cost is only £6 because they save £4 tax.
How does it work?
Providing that your employer offers Payroll Giving it could not be simpler. All you need to do is print out our Payroll Giving form, fill it in and pass it on to your payroll and send a copy to us. Simply quote Al Kawthar Academy Registered Charity No: 1106630 on the form. This will authorize your employer to deduct donations from your pay. Your employer pays these donations to a Payroll Giving agency approved by the Inland Revenue. The agency then distributes the money to Al Kawthar Academy. Once your donation is set up, you don't have to do any more.
If your employer doesn't offer Payroll Giving suggest they start one - it's is easy and inexpensive to run.
